GAMBLERS SWEEP ROYALS. WIN 4-1 SUN 5-21-1972
The stars were numerous in the latest LV victory. The Bash Brothers were at it again. Antwaun Belle & Thumper Thornton both homered. Shaquille Dunston also homered. Desmond James making a case of late to be in the lineup fulltime tripled and singled & stole a base. Dewayne Gooden improved his record to 5-1 with another strong outing. Mel Jackson picked up his 12th save to remain perfect in the save department. The Gamblers at 23-4 are 5 1/2 games of 2nd place Chicago(18-10) in the west. The Gamblers return home on Monday to begin a 3 game set with The Angels. Southpaw CJ Sabathia(5-0) will oppose Angel fireballer Nolan Ryan. Ryan dealt LV their last loss back on the 15th of this month.
